Hello Noobs,
Lol, I haven't got past the second word and I'm already mentioning something to do with Runesc...ahh I won't go into that. Anyhoo my name's Aaya and I'm late to most things, I think spell checker is a blessing and I have a tendency to do an 'all nighter' with coursework (kinda links in with being late...).
If you have never met anyone from our group (seriously why the hell are you reading this?) then you are missing out 'cause this group is awesome, it's a bunch of random, different, interesting people who happen to be really good friends - sorry about the ghayness.
So I'm supposed to be writing about my trip to
(I really hope no Saudis are reading this)
I have to say Saudi was a change from the usual England to Yemen trip, firstly their aeroplanes were a lot better, now it was probably your standard plane but I couldn't help but look like a complete freshie as I shoved my brother in excitement to show him the touch screen T.V behind every seat. It's not my fault I'm used to one bulky monitor to share between the whole cabin. -.-
I was also relieved to see that there were no flies on this plane... (Seriously Yemenia have issues)
If you ever want to go to Saudi here's something you need to know : the country is ROASTING especially Jeddah, where we stayed, and it doesn't help having to wear a long black 'abaya' (kind of like a coat but thinner). I honestly wouldn't mind wearing it but why does it have to be black of all colours when you're waiting for a taxi and its 50 degrees outside! When I stayed with family in Jeddah you would go to bed just as the sun was rising and wake up at about 4-5pm, everything is open at night, it's like Las Vegas...except, really not Las Vegas.
I had to laugh at Saudis attempt at separating men and women by having a "Ladies night" at a theme park, I realised this completely backfired when I saw two women getting a bit "cosy", for the rest of the night I entertained myself by trying to spot all the Lesbians...
Things I learnt from my trip to Saudi:
- Lack of exercise due to the immense heat + American sized meals for cheap cheap prices = obesity.
- Never go on a Saudi plane with shorts (even 3/4 length) apparently you will "attract the ladies", my brother learnt this the hard way as he was almost barred (banned?) from going on a Saudi plane...
- Petrol is cheaper than water :D
- You can't have statues of animals on the streets of Saudi, however if it's deformed (i.e. cut in half) then by all means go ahead!
So I think I've criticised Saudi quite a bit, now don't get me wrong the people are very nice and I had a lot of fun with family, it's just the government that need to sort themselves out. I won't forget to mention that visiting
Oh and by the way don't think I hate
Never Fear Aaya Is Here
xoxo
